Mental Health Awareness Training

This is an interactive session, for anyone interested, which looks at common mental health difficulties: their signs, symptoms and sign posting options. Using different scenarios, attendees can see how individuals with mental health difficulties may interact with church, and some of the benefits and challenges it poses.

The session splits into 2 parts:
Part One - Common Mental Health Difficulties
- What is Mental Health?
- Anxiety, Depression and Stress with scenarios

Part Two - Support and Signposting
- Conversation Framework
- Expectations and Boundaries when supporting someone
- When and where to signpost

There is time to chat and ask questions during the activities and afterwards, as well as resources with information about of the mental health difficulties covered and more.

This session takes around 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on how long people want to discuss and ask questions. It builds on MHFA training and information from Rethink and Mind with a church focus.
